FSBUS CCC minidoc

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,to whom may be interrested, here is attached a CCC minidoc where I compiled all usable objects.Hope it will help,Francois

Good.My original intention was to write an article on my site with all FSBUS objects, both standard and CCC.But many had (big and not so big) bugs never fixed, and since i never received answers to my email (small critic to Dirk) i entirely dropped the article.Let's hope the new generation will be a little better in bugs terms.

Thank's for the doc ...2 questions:- in what case do you use a "Schmitt Trigger" and what mean hyteresis ?- is there a way to multiply to offsets togetherfor example to multiply the main left tank with the main left tank capacity to obtain the fuel quantity in gallon ?Thank'sBOB

I know what you mean ! I am still dreaming about the next version of FSBUS Router. What I fear is a drop out from Dirk about the "old" COM board.I started to play with the CCC recently and it is (very) promising for my A320 cockpit. I miss very much a dedicated place for all the FSBUS builder to write and read about all the "big and not so big" bugs. Of course there is a lot of information hidden within the search function in this forum (it is the only place as a matter of fact for people not speaking German) but a single website with gathered all the experience from everyone would be great. With a friend (who is belonging to this forum) we already assembled 3 FSBUS packages (COM+Keys+AD+Display) and we now know some tricks but we are still looking for more information and advice...Even a simple FAQ would do fine.Tchao,Francois

It would be great to have a website like the WiKi to put the pics of our CCC shematics, that could be helpful for people to see how the other programs the logical interface ...BOB

Hi BOB,I have no ready example in my mind to give you about the use of a Schmitt Trigger but the idea is to give a non-linear answer to an input. It fits exactly the idea of Hysteresis wich is a kind of lag in a response such as in a Rate of Climb indicator (a variometer). When your plane is starting climbing, the needle is not moving at first then start showing the climb, if you maintain the same rate of climb, the needle stabilize at the rate of climb. There is a lag in the needle mouvement. It is the same for a descent except the lag there is not of the same value as for the climb. You can modelize such behavior with a Schmitt Trigger. The Add/Mul object will not do the trick with your fuel quantity. It only add 2 offsets together then multiply the result by a value you select in the property menu. After that the result again is added to another value set in the property menu (it is called an...offset). So the multiplication factor is a constant and may not be variable...Obviously more objects are needed with the CCC (such as a XOR gate to start with).Hope it will help,Francois

>what mean hyteresis ?When you have a threshold that determines the status of something, to avoid the continous changes that would happen when the world variable changes passing the threshold you use the hysteresis.Let's take for example a thermostat just like the one in your fridge, on which you've set a temperature: let's say 5

>I miss very much a dedicated>place for all the FSBUS builder to write and read about all>the "big and not so big" bugs. Me too.I tried suggesting Dirk to put a forum in the FSBUS site, or even here (avsim is always open to developers), but he refused and continued to use that small german-only forum :(I tried moving there giving and seeking help, but the language barrier is too strong not only for me but for them too :(

Again thank's to Claudio and Fran

Lads, sorry for this to be slightly OffTopic, but where is the cheapest "best" place to get FSBUS PCBs?I could make them myself but it would mean I have to purchase all the equipment again, so would prefer to buy them. Ive seen Cockpit Dimension (i think?) sell them, but it still adds upto about 100Euro for the boards I need...(some are cheap, some are expensive).Any ideas? Thanks

Ive seen>Cockpit Dimension (i think?) sell them, but it still adds upto>about 100Euro for the boards I need...(some are cheap, some>are expensive).By the way, if you have noticed, Simkits has now a 32-channel input/output board that can drive 32 servos or leds or interface switches. USB and you can have several. Costs 89 euros per piece, which is a bit steep, but then again, knowing from their CCU board calibration software, it was is easy to set up and get going. Probably worth checking out, if this software is as good. They claim you can map stuff to any FSUIPC offset. Also, IOCards has PCBoards and ready assembled modules for sale at a reasonable price.Just so you know what's around and can make a good decision on what to go with, if you dont have any hardware yet.//Tuomas

I have no idea about where to buy the finished set since a friend made the PCB for us and we bought the components and realised the cards. About the PCB of the FS Display there is a bug so don't rush doing it...When we decided which system to built we had hesitation between FSBUS and IOcard and we thought (then) that the feedback from Dirk website would be better. I am sorry to say that we where wrong and it seems that the IOcard web support is much better (and the card cheaper to built because the PIC used on the FSBUS are rather expensive). So today I would promote the IOcard even if the FSBUS we have is working good. Anyway we have it for the time being so we'll stick to it ;-)By the way, I don't know what a Wiki is but anything close to a FSBUS FAQ is OK for me!Regards, altack
