Using the offset $3110?

Featured Replies

Hi It seems that everyone over @ opencockpits.com has left for summer vacation? So I'll ask here also:How do I use the offset $3110? Could someone give an example?Even better, how can I use the $3110 offset with IOCards or SIOC?The reason is that I need to send the control: ENGINES_AUTO_START to FS with justt one pushbutton, and also the SIM_RESET with one pushbutton. And I just can't seem to figure out how to do that with IOCards or SIOC.I know it's not realistic, but I need these functions for a cessna project that goes on display where "ordinary" people try the simulator. And they can't spend time learning for example the starting procedure ect.Any help would be much appreciated.Best regardsPeter Skotte

So make that pushbutton do it. There is probably a "Reset flight" key binding too, which you can define in FS keybinding settings and use that?//Tuomas

There is probably a "Reset flight" key binding >too, which you can define in FS keybinding settings and use that?Hi TuomasYes, that is the exact issue! The $3110 offset is used to send the FS controls such as ENGINE_AUTO_START or SIM_RESET, and normally it works like this:offset, lenght, value. But the $3110 used 2 integers so it would be:offset, lenght, number, value.($3110, 8, 66224, 1) this would send the command ENGINE_AUTO_START to FS via FSUIPCAnd I am completely in the dark on how to do that with IOCards...Any

I am no expert, I have only had my IOCards a week and been working to much to play around alot, but from what I have read of the manual you can use the mastercard to send a key command. Valor on/key, valor off/key. It is not covered in the manual but you might try posting on IOCards forums for how to.I really would like to know also because I need to try and get FreeFD ND working with IOcards, it needs things like 'a' for show airports and 'A' (shift+a) for Arc mode. The Porcupineaka Simon Webbwww.desktopflying.co.ukVery slowely putting together a generic twin desktop unit.

What software do you use for IOCards control?. If you use Config_IOCard you assign a switch to a key push. Use key (A) for upper case and (

Thankyou for that answer Jose,At the moment I am only playing with config_IOCard until I get the hang of the system. In the .ini file you can direct where the keypress is sent, default seems to be PM efis. I would like to know if you can send the keypress to another window on another computer? If not I will just have to run OICard program from the computer that has my FreeFD ND running. I am sure this would solve the problem for me because I can not do shifted keys with my hacked keyboard, also cant use rotary switches for range etc, so this would be ideal solution.Simonaka The Porcupinewww.desktopflying.co.ukThe building is in danger of becoming for absorbing than the flying!

Hi Jose! Thanks for the answer.Could you please give a more detailed example?Where and what should I write in ConfigIOcards software? Some screensshots would be very nice. And how about key combos?: Ctrl+; or Ctrl+E and so on?Thanks in advancePeter Skotte

Answer for Simon: if you read the IOCard software document, you can see about this option is available by editing the IOCard.ini, but don
