Portable Cessna avionics panel

Featured Replies

Hi All,I thought I would share a small project I have been working on for my MS FS 2004. This is a panel I built to emulate the Cessna 172 cockpit controls. The Com and Nav tuning is done with return to center toggles for whole and decimal digits along with a push button to make the standby the active. All avionics can be controlled from it as well as OBS1, OBS2, ADF,Altimeter, Gyro heading and gyro compass, all lights, fuel select, pitot heat, fuel pump, and starter. The panel face is about 8.5 X 8.5. It works great and with my CH yoke and rudder pedals, along with voice controlled ATC from vox ATC it is all quite immersive.Hope you like it.Thanks,Tomhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/120026.jpg

Looks pretty slick, Tom. Does it interface through the keyboard port?Mikewww.mikesflightdeck.com

Hi Mike,Thanks for the kind remarks. The Hagstrom encoder is the one that goes to the keybord port KE72.Thanks again,Tom

Hi,I'm a beginner and I would like to start with cockpit building.I've downloaded from www.fsbus.de all the documentation to use the FSBUS technology. It's pretty clear to me how the FSBUS interface works but it's not clear how I can interface an instrument (the speedometer for example). How is an instrument driven by? With an analogic level voltage? (a ramp signal for example).Should I build a DC/AC converter to drive the instrument? (supposing it's driven by a voltage).Where should I find any tutorial to connect FSBUS and instrumentation?Thank you, best regards.Bob
