June 21, 200520 yr Hi folks!Recently I am buzzy with exams and that calls for some SERIOUS relaxation therapy so that's how I ended up flying online once in a while with my laptop. Each (3) times so far I used the Eurowings BAe146.While flying this plane and panel .. I got to admit .. I love this one so much more than the Fokker 50. This is a plane I can actually land smoothly. So there you have it .. since my project is at a freeze-stage anyway .. I will look into changing to BAe 146 now. Re-use all the equipment I got so far. Build a new overhead. I got to re-build all other panels anyway. Sad thing 'bout the TQ now but the BAe146 has no reversers so no big deal for a new TQ.There has been a guy out here starting up an RJ85 or BAe146 project but I haven't heard from him in a long while. Hope to hear from him soon.
June 21, 200520 yr Ok, I'll make it such:General cockpit layout: = mix between F50 and BAe .. seen from pics that's doable.Overhead: I make a new one for BAe and make it such that I can easely replace it with the F50 one.Pedestall: = mixTQ: Is modular so I can change F50/BAe.Glare has vurtually same functions on both so can be done somewhat generic.
June 22, 200520 yr If you're going EFIS then it's the RJ and not the 146.I once was in love with the 146200QT, but doing that pit was a challenge i hadn't the resources for.It would have been masterous and solemn and... But i simply could not do all those analog gauges. My best wishes for your success in this venture!
June 22, 200520 yr Just do it all generic. I mean, decide what *systems* you want to have in the setup. All jets have more or less the same basic stuff. You can take inspiration for the looks of the panels from existing planes, but that way, it will work with whatever "plane" you want to simulate.I mean: hydraulics, generators, fuel management, apu etc.. Even if the layout and placement might differ a bit between aircraft types, it's more or less the same.//Tuomas
June 24, 200520 yr That's yet another one of my thoughts. I'm a design student now anyway .. perhaps one day I might design a cockpit myself and build it.For now I will keep it a RJ85 MIP + F50 glare and F50 pedestall. Both F50/146 TQ's and F50/146 overheads.
