June 28, 200520 yr Hi,I'm a beginner and I would like to start with cockpit building.I've downloaded from www.fsbus.de all the documentation to use the FSBUS technology. It's pretty clear to me how the FSBUS interface works but it's not clear how I can interface an instrument (the speedometer for example). How is an instrument electrically driven? With an analogic level voltage? (a ramp signal for example).Should I build a DC/AC converter to drive the instrument? (supposing it's driven by a voltage).Where should I find any tutorial to connect FSBUS and instrumentation?Thank you, best regards.Bob
June 28, 200520 yr Bob,It depends on what sort of instrumentation you are using. There are a lot of options. In fact the topic is so big, one could write a book on it ;-).There are a couple of companies manufacturing sim instruments that you might use. They come with their own interfaces. Interfacing real flight instruments can be a handful. Only a few Uber-sim wizards have done so as yet.You can build your own instruments using a variety of techniques. There is some info on my site that may help you sort out your options. Here's a good starting point: http://www.mikesflightdeck.com/instrument_panel_1.htm Mikewww.mikesflightdeck.com

June 28, 200520 yr Thnak you Mike for your reply...I've read your interesting site...so I think that I will try to build my own instruments but first I think it's better to get experienced with switches and potentiometer just to understand how FSBUS and FS2004 work together.Thank you again, greetings.Bob
