August 18, 200520 yr I would like to know if there are any current or "about to be" 737-NG pit builders out there from the UK....I'm in Bristol, and I am thinking of starting a 737-NG project, but I am a complete NOVICE, so I need LOTS of advice....If you are close, i might ask for some "on-site" advice :)From what I've "researched" so far, it looks like I will probably go with things likePhidgets...Engravity Panels....FMC, overhead panels, switches knobs and led's etc...Cpflight MCPProject Magenta for the instrumentsBuild my own MDF Frame to house everything etc...What else ?Dunno where I will get throttles, centre pedistal, flight controls etc..And last but not least ...I will have NO idea how to wire everything together.... will need lots of help here !I will probably start VERY slowly ( bit by bit )..... and take my time...If anyone from the UK ( or anywhere else for that matter ) have been through this already, please give me a shout....I will need a bit of advice, and maybe a bit of hand holding in the beginningThank you very much !Regards
August 25, 200520 yr Hey,I am part fo a small team building a bit of an unusual sim! It's a BAe 146 STA sim, and we are creating a custom cockpit really, its based on A320/737 bits and peices! All sorts really!Where in Bristol are you? We are about 10mins north of Bristol. Unfrotnautly we don't have a big budget at all, so are using stuff like FreeFD, IOCards, making our own panels etc.....
August 31, 200520 yr Hi PhilI'm in Bradley Stoke actually, near the M4/M5 junction ( so basically North Bristol )
October 27, 200520 yr I have sent you an email with my emails on, so please feel free to reply to me any time.Good Morning,I came across your message in the Home Cockpit Builders Forum regardings UK people. I have to say that I am not currently a builder and am really in the research stage as are you. However the items you listed for your NG build were the exact same ones I was looking to use. However due to time and space I shall not be building just yet, but would be really up for helping someone else develop theirs, to learn as we go along?I live in Emersons Green - so really not a billion miles away. How is the project going so far?Regards,Simon
