August 29, 200520 yr Great pictures!I wonder if you could help me?I am currently building an A320 cockpit but I have never been able to get the dimensions of the overhang of the FCU over the MIP. I wonder if you could tell me how much the FCU extends beyond the MIP? I also notice in your picture the top of the FCU also overhangs the facia. August 29, 200520 yr Yes the distance from teh MIP to the Face of the FCU is 10.5 Inches I found that in the measurements of my ex-A320 Project will let you know the other one whenever I can.Take care.Roberto
August 29, 200520 yr Wow! I've just measured my distance and it's only 5.5 inches!! - that was a best guess looking at all the pictures in www.airliners.net 10.5 inches looks a really long way for the FCU to overhang the MIP!Best wishes,Darren
August 29, 200520 yr Nope 5.5 Inches is way too little my friend you have to remember that the Idea of the MIP being so far back or the FCU being in front of you is so that you have a complete view of the Instruments and easy reach of the FCU!!As well as you can see outside if it was close enough you couldn
August 29, 200520 yr :-)Thank you for the reply, Roberto. At some point in the future, the cockpit will be rebuilt so as to replace the CRT monitors with LCD screens. This wil allow the gear lever to be fitted as well as other bits and pieces which at the moment I am unable to because the 19 inch monitors are blocking the access points.So I will think 10.5 inches in the rebuild!
