September 30, 200520 yr Can anyone tell me if I can use the FSBus2 display card that the 7 segment leds are mounted on (because I want to use the smaller Kightsbridge 7 segments)with the classic FSBus Display controller? In other words, are the pin assignments the same on the 7-seg led cards.ThanksDavid
September 30, 200520 yr No, the pin layout is different of the 7 segments leds and also the bus pins are different on fsbus1 and fsbus2.If you are a little experieced with electronics you could make your own pcb for the smaller kingbrights and connect these to the fsbus1 display board. At first I decided to do that myself (want to use the smaller kingbrights too). But I think it is less work togo for the fsbus2 because it has a lot of improvements in fuctionalityregards Norberthttp://home.wanadoo.nl/norbert.bosch
September 30, 200520 yr Hi Norbert,I have most of FSBus 1 built and I don't want to have to start from scratch building FSBus 2, and besides, only a small part of FSBus 2 is available as yet.I know that Johan from Novelair has redesigned the boards for FSBus 1, and I have used these for my 4 digit transponder, but there is a little too much space between the leds. 4 of them you can manage to squeeze together, but 5 gets a little messy.RegardsDavid
September 30, 200520 yr David...Send me a private email.I may be able to help you if you are talking about theSC36 series digits of Knightbright (or similar)George DorkofikisAthens, Greecehttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/811520/1704.pnghttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/betaimg.jpg
October 1, 200520 yr If it helps I'm using FSbus1 Display boards and I use IOcards 3 and 5 digit pcb's to mount the Kingbrights....just wired to the appropiate pins...can send you the conversion for pinouts if you decide to go that way.
October 1, 200520 yr Thanks Ian,I think George has a solution for me first up. If not, happy to try your solution.RegardsDavid
