November 29, 200520 yr I have just finished making and installing the two speed brake caution lights on my 737(ish) MIP. I have no problems with the speed brake armed light, that obviously lights green when the FSUIPC ofset, forget which one at the moment, is in the armed postion. Value 4800 if I remember without looking it up.The problem I have is what conditions would make the SPEEN BRAKE DO NOT ARM illuminate on the real plane so I can model it using SIOC?All my copy of the B737 300/400/500 manual, dated Dec 2000, says on the subject is as follows;"SPEED BRAKE DO NOT ARM lightLight deactivated when SPEED BRAKE lever is in down position.Illuminated (amber) - indicates abnormal condition or test inputs to the automatic speed brake system."If anyone out there knows what those abnormal conditions or test inputs might represent then I would really appreciate the answer.Simonaka The Porcupinewww.desktopflying.co.ukVery slowely putting together a generic twin desktop unit.
December 5, 200520 yr For Simulations purposes with the MSFS, You only have under the 60 Ktsthe Autospeed brake will disarm and the light go to "ON". All other conditions will be for real planes and You cann
December 7, 200520 yr >>You can, if you use pmsystem.>I am using OpenCockpits SIOC and would like to model them. I have already implimented the below 60kt mentioned in another reply. It was the other possable conditions I was looking for.Simonaka The Porcupinewww.desktopflying.co.uk (site very out of date, SIOC is too adictive!!)

December 10, 200520 yr Simon, The amber light ( SpeedBrake Do Not Arm ) comes on when the speedbrake lever is in the armed position and there is a malfunction in the auto speedbrake system, what malfunction? I do not know but Like the previous post, its probably better to simulate using a instructor station to fail the auto speedbrake sytem in general which would illuminate the speedbrake do not arm annunciator.Regards dc6driver
December 11, 200520 yr Thanks guys, I guess I will at least get to see it light when I press the lights test button. I may 'invent' some logical reasons for it to light, when in take-off config and still on the ground for example.Simon Webbaka The Porcupinewww.desktopflying.co.uk (not updated for too long!)Very slowely putting together a generic twin desktop unit.
