December 20, 200520 yr Hi Folks. For some time now, I have been using my PC in windowed mode so that I can in 2004, undock and move gauges etc to other monitors. This has been working very well indeed, and I have been getting 50 - 60fps but suddenly for no apparent reason, I can only get 4 - 6fps when in windowed mode - even though there are no added windows showing on the outside view. Full screen gives me 50 - 60fps?Anyone know what I might have done wrong? Any tricks or suggestions? I am wondering if I need to re-install FS?Help urgently needed!!Many thanks.TONY. U.K.
December 21, 200520 yr Hi TonyJust check if one of undocked panels is not overlaping the 3d view displaying windowEven slight, hard noticable overlaping can make huge differentAlsow check if 3d accelerationj is disabled for all pci cards Hope thats your caseRegards
December 21, 200520 yr Hi Yoss. Thanks for your suggestions. I tried them - but no luck!I do notice that when I switch to windowed mode, the full screen frame rate dwells for about a second before dipping to about 3fps? Just the system catching up I suppose? I have some Go Flight stuff installed as well as KE72 keyboard emulation but cant see how this would effect things? The sim has been running normally (in windowed mode) for a year now and with 40 - 60 fps. I may have to consider re-installing FS in hope that it might trigger things back the way they were!!!Thanks for your help anyway.Tony. U.K.
December 21, 200520 yr As a follow up to my last comments, I have somehow managed to get my framerates back whilst in windowed mode - but I don't know how!! I am using Parhelia, and I switched from stretch mode to single screen and back - plus fiddled with the triple view positioning within the three monitors (moving it as one view to settle on a position). Using the curser on the top blue border I noticed that at times the frames dropped back again? No idea why, but have saved a flight in this mode so as to "capture" the situation.Sorry not very technical, but I wonder if anybody else has had this experience?Tony. U.K.
