CH and Thrustmaster Problem

Featured Replies

I had been using a Thrustmaster FLCS and TQS for FS control. I have built a replica of the Boeing 727 throttle with modifications to the TQS for a working model.I recently bought the CH flight yoke and both were working with each other upon initial installation until I re-booted the computer the next morning. The FLCS and TQS are hooked up to a gameport to USB converter. The FLSC and TQS both disappeared from the assignment list in the XP game contoller window. What shows up in the window is a two-axis four-button contoller along with the CH Yoke.I've tried re-assigning an axis to the TQS through the CH config manager and through FS9 but this isn't working. The computer thinks the TQS is a hat switch and upon advancing the throttle forward, it will run through four different views of either inside or outside of the aircraft.Any attempt to change the controller from the choices in the game controller box results in an error that my gameport or gameport software is not configured correctly. Of course, there is no gameport on the computer. This has been a real PITA for the last two days and I don't seem to be able to fix it or have a clue what to try next.Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Changing the throttle to a fully USB compatible product is not an option as the TQS is built-in to the Boeing 727 throttle housing and I have to use this for realism's sake.I don't need any buttons on the TQS to function (they are no longer there anyway) I just need XP, FS, and CH to recognize the throttle as a throttle, z axis I believe it is.

This must be a bigger problem that I first thought.

I found the problem. When the Control Manager asks if you want to combine controllers for use in older games that may not recognize more than one, the answer is NO.The CM combined the controllers and removed the throttle axis from the Thrustmaster. After un-installing the older CM and installing the new version and unplugging the TM, things seem to be working again for now.The Thrustmaster TQS is listed as a four-axis four-button contoller in the XP game contoller window along with the CH yoke.
