Thoughts about cockpit-type

Featured Replies

Hi all.I have recently started on my home-cockpit project. How wonderful it must be to have a "full-blown" 737NG cockpit with PM and all kind of hardware-stuff! Yep, that

After earning my Commercial/Instrument ticket back in the late '80's early '90's all I ever wanted to fly was the Boeing 727.Things didn't quite turn out the way I thought they would so I'm flying an airliner simulator.I don't have any desire to fly any other airliner than the 727.Mine is not an enclosed full flight deck simulator, but rather an abreviation of that. I have a scratch-bult center control stand/throttle, landing gear control panel, and overhead (P5) panel that keeps me satisfied for now.It is not all yet integrated with the computer or FS, but I have most functions working except the radios. I'm still sort of new to this even though I've been working a year on mine. I know there is a way to configure the rotary switches in the Gables Engineering radio heads I'm using, but I haven't figured it out yet and I don't know what to buy because there is a confusing number of products on the market. No one at any commercial site actually explains how all of this crap is hooked up and programmed. They just asure you that you can do it with their product.I'm not exactly electronics ignorant. I used to maintain Minuteman ICBM's for the Air Force, but damned if I can figure out a lot of this stuff out without trial and error.Good luck on your project.
