March 15, 200620 yr HiI built a new throttle assembly using me 3 pots in my CH Yoke. All was working fine for weeks. Now out if the blue the throttle (Z axes) is pulsating out of controle .I cant calibrate it at all.In CH Manager i tried re calibrating and now its stuck at center in the calibration window and flickering like a jumping bean.Any ideas how to solve my delema.Al Sibleyhttp://www.flightontario.com/images/sig_asibley.gif
March 15, 200620 yr Hi Al,I don't know if I realy understand.....how is the behavior of youre pot.I had a similar problem in the past. When I looked at the throttle in FS, I can see it, continually moving and shaking.I changed all my wires with shielded cables. After that my signal comme very steady and fair.JP Tremblayhttp://pages.infinit.net/flight01/index.html
March 15, 200620 yr Thanks for the reply .When I look at the throttle in FS its shaking like its vibrating.Im running a shielded gameport cable and plug up to my panel when it connects to the CH circuit board. Maybe my cable is too long. There is around 4 ft of cable from my Throttle up the back of my desk and into the back of my custom built panel which contains the CH Yoke circuit board.http://www.flightontario.com/images/sig_asibley.gif
March 16, 200620 yr Woops,Mine, is about 4 feet long. May be another problem...Did you try, another cable ? another pot ? All the unpleasant test to eliminate most of possibilities ?JP
March 16, 200620 yr Cabel is the problem.I did a test where I removed the cable connected at the pot circuit board. I connected the original 4 wire cable from the CH circuit board back up to the pots and its perfect. I rewired 2 momentaries to my Throttle and Prop in my Throttle assembly to create a revers on the Throttle and a feather on the Prop.I noticed that the assignment went from button 3 and 4 to Hat Switch.I figured out that that was definitly the length of the cable. When I jumped across the wires to the momentaries about a foot from the CH board I got button 3 and 4 again.Maybe the length of cable changes the resistance which screws everything up. Ill post a pic of my Throttle assembly.http://www.flightontario.com/images/sig_asibley.gif
March 16, 200620 yr My throttle assembly. This is my temp I built while I am building a full scale center console for a Beech 1900 twin.http://www.flightontario.com/images/sig_asibley.gifhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/145047.jpg
