April 4, 200620 yr Quite an impressive milestone! Will you fill the engraved lettering with white paint?Mikewww.mikesflightdeck.com
April 4, 200620 yr Hi Ramsberg,It's satifying when your first panel comes off the machine.Just a bit of advice if you want it. After many tests and failures, I found the best way for me is I paint the piece of perspex first, then I engrave the text, cut out the holes and squares, then cut the outside. This way, you mount it once and remove the finished product. The only thing you have to do is touch up the walls of the cuts.I also use 3mm opal perspex for the front as it gives good white text without backlighting, and really good backlighting. For engraving, I got a drill piece that came with the dremel accessories, and carefully ground it down to a fine point. I engrave 0.15mm into the surface which is just enough to go through the paint. These are only my experiences.David
April 4, 200620 yr Yep, that was my plan, but David gave me the idea to use white plastic instead... Will try both./Ramsberg
April 4, 200620 yr Wow!apart from the bold-not-white letters, this could be a professional panel...Well done!
