April 5, 200620 yr Hi all,Continuing design on my 757/767 cockpit, I am currently troubleshooting my FMC/CDU design. With the valuable help of Nico (and through him, Ian's and Ricardo's), I managed to undock the CDU and move it to the 5" TFT screen I had attached to the TVOUT of my VGA. I also managed to resize the CDU window just enough to cover the whole TFT.However, I haven't been able to hide the window frame. It's always visible within the FS window. I am running at 1280x960x32 on the main desktop and 640x480x32 on the TFT/TVOut.This with FS in windowed mode. If I switch to full screen after I have moved the CFU display over to the TFT, it resized, I think because it's forced to operate at 1280x960 as well. Don't know how to prevent this.Any ideas? Thanks for your help,Regards,George DorkofikisAthens, Hellashttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/811520/1704.png
April 5, 200620 yr Hi GeorgeI'ver read abot utility called Powerstrip, alowing you to adjust visible area on your monitorSudjest you try that Here goest the linkhttp://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_desc...fid,6241,00.aspRegards
April 5, 200620 yr I have already tried it...And the result was an even worse display. I'll see if I missed something in the settings though. Thanks for the suggestion.George DorkofikisAthens, Hellashttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/811520/1704.png
April 5, 200620 yr Would here work the same trick we did with the RealityXP's GPS gauge? Just used negative upper left coordinates and "too big" values for bottom right for the gauge, so the frame is "off screen" and all one can see in the popup window is just the "screen" part?It needs some experimenting though, but worked nicely for us.//Tuomas
April 5, 200620 yr As they say, 1 pictures is 1000 words... So here's 3000 words...After changing the panel.cfg file, and using a black background, the CDU screen appears as follows (FS in windowed mode).http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/146587.jpgThen, I Undock and move it to the left (that helped a LOT keeping the frame out of sight!) - Still in windowed mode...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/146588.jpgBut when I switch over to full screen, the CDU remains where I had put it but shrunk in size!!! Now, if that could be resized it would be great!.. (Laurent... Wade... Do you hear? LOL)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/146589.jpgNo luck with powerstrip.George DorkofikisAthens, Hellashttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/811520/1704.png
April 5, 200620 yr George,I would firstly try Toumas's suggestion of increasing the display size of the gauge in the panel.cfg file to see if that works. Then I would look at the settings of the graphics card - there may be a setting in the graphics card that is causing the display to be centered and shrunk when it is in windowed mode.
April 6, 200620 yr It shrinks in full screen, not windowed mode.I assume it has to do with DirectX or something. I have an ATI 9600XT and have set main desktop at 1280x960x32 for my 19" CRT monitor and 640x480x32 for the TVOUT through the drivers. I can't find any more options. If the cdu gauge was resizable there would be no prob at all!I will try to set the gauge too big and see if that helps. Thanks for all the suggestions so far.George DorkofikisAthens, Hellashttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/811520/1704.png
April 6, 200620 yr Thanks... Replied...George DorkofikisAthens, Hellashttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/811520/1704.png
