FSBUS NG overvoltage protection

Featured Replies

Hi guysJust soldering the fsbusng com NG board.I have a 1,5 KE 10 A overvoltage fusesee:http://www.reichelt.de/inhalt.html?SID=10s...EETAUTO=;OPEN=1for datasheeth. It is D1 in the docs. It has a black body and on one end is a grey line. Does it make any difference in which direction I solder it? And if yes, what part goes to the ground? Thanks in advance Norbert

Yes it does. Your suffix is "A" so it is unidirectional. Connect it as if it was a zener with the anode to ground. This device appears to be very simmilar to a Transorb.Silly question... if you have a regulated supply feeding the board, why would you need this device? Gus

Yes, that was in factt the question. What side is the anode?I have already the answer from another forum. The grey line goes to the (+) and the other side to ground. It is an optional device. I have a 5 volt source, so probably it is not needed. But only for the case someone puts the power wrong source to my fsbus system.regardsNorbert
