May 7, 200620 yr Hi,Lat week I was trying my FSBUS with a small switch cause I have started wiring my MCP so I unplugged everything and put it all away. Now today took everything out and It does`t detect any hardware!! The switch that is connected is not been detected when I give the autosense any ideas what might be wrong?? Nothing seems to be loose and Voltage seems to be passing along the cards.Regards.Roberto
May 7, 200620 yr What do you need to know exactly Norbert and where do I find it I`m sorry but I`m new on FSBUS.THanks.Roberto
May 7, 200620 yr Ok,I wired my FSDisplay board and conected the boards to it and made a display test... it didn`t work so I said the connector must be wrong or loose when I was taking the connector I saw the Led numbers displayed, so I gently placed the connector back and played a bit with it and if I leave it a bit loose the displays run wonderfull!! Now If I put the FSKEY it won`t detect me any switches still so Is there a Loose Pin?? is there a Short somewhere any suggestions?? At least Led`s are working which means not the whole Board is ruined!!Regards,Roberto
May 8, 200620 yr Hi Roberto...You probably have what is called 'cold solder'...Check all the solder points one by one using a good light source and magnifying glass. The solder points should be shiny alum coloured and must form like a volcano/small hill. Dull, mat looking solders are blocking connection. As you say you play with the connector and the leds work, it means that the connector solders are not correctly done. I had this problem in most of my FSBus boards! Also, make sure that the ICs are placed correctly onto there sockets. Sometime a leg is twisted inside and doesn't make contact with the socket. Once it took me 4hrs to find our that this was the problem I had with one of the boards as everything else was looking fine.Good luck.George DorkofikisAthens, Hellashttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/811520/1704.png
May 8, 200620 yr I once had the settings of the software on com 1 and the hardware on com 2.If it worked before and now it does not, it has to be something with the settings or a cold solder.regardsNorbert
