June 6, 200619 yr .. Does anyone have a good source for getting hold of mechanical counter mechanisms (preferably UK/Europe) cheaply? The sort of thing I'm after is similar to the odometer in a car, the barrel mechanism for displaying a numerical countI need a selection for a GA cockpit to represent the barometric pressure and maybe engine hours..I have had no luck finding anything suitable, not even ebay..Just want to exhaust this avenue before I resort to an electronic solution..Thanks,Wayne M

June 7, 200619 yr Thanks for the info Mike,Being prompted by your response, I had a look on ebay in the UK and quite a few come up under the title of "Tally Counter". Simple little things with four digits, and only costing a few pounds sterling.Obviously for QNH readings I don't need to use the full range of 0-9999, and reversing the count might be a problem if the mechanism doesn't allow this. I think I can stretch to this price and dismantle one..CheersWayne
June 12, 200619 yr In the States check out:http://www.overtons.com/modperl/overtons/d...=28245&fcat=2C5andhttp://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/store...hallpartial/0/0I would guess that similar items are available "across the pond" at larger marine supply houses.I put one in my boat to track hours between oil changes... they run on 12VDC.
