August 11, 200619 yr Hi guys,I builded the COM and IO boards and they are working fine. Now I finished the 6 pack DISPLAY board (common ANODE). I programmed it succesfully BUT it is not working at all. When I give power to the board I'm able to read the number 5 in the displays for few seconds.I tried it with FSBUS admin software.I tried another of the six display circuits and the result is the same.I'm using displays 7 segements Kingbright SA36-11EWA as suggested by Dirk. Thanks for any helpByeFabioItaly
August 12, 200619 yr Hi Fabio,I had the same Problem. It was an flashing-error.Please make sure, you set the right security bits and write them to your device. Also make sure, you have a correct flashing deviceGreetz, HendrikGermany
August 16, 200619 yr Hi Hendrik, thanks for your help.I don't use any flashing devise.I program directly on board as indicated on the documentation.I use micro ATTINY 2313 in common ANODE with 4MHz ceramic resonator;the binary file is dsp_tiny_ca.hex;the security bits are ( see page 18 of the FSBUS display manual:CKSEL3 =1CKSEL2 =1CKSEL1 =0CKSEL0 =0SUT1 =1SUT0 =0all the other BITS are disabled.when i flash everything goes well.suggestion?ThanksFabioItaly
August 16, 200619 yr Did you set J16 when flashing? Your display is working OK when cheking in fsadmin? Then it should work in fsbus too.http://www.wcm.at/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=198526It is an german forum, but deals about this subject. You will see my settings for the com display. regardsNorberthttp://home.wanadoo.nl/norbert.bosch/
August 17, 200619 yr I don't have any J16 in my scheme. In my six pack display board I have only six J2 jumpers and when I flash disable all jumpers except the controller I'm preparing (page 17 FSBUS_NG display manual). After I flashed with PonyProg 2000 and wrote successful,I open Fsadmin.exe, set controller ID ( flash CID 3 times). The problem is the display that not working when cheking in fsadmin.I move the cursors of FSADMIN Display test but all the 7 segment display are turn offI use these security bits:CKSEL3 =1CKSEL2 =1CKSEL1 =0CKSEL0 =0SUT1 =1SUT0 =0all the other BITS are disabled. They are correct ???ThanksFabioItaly
August 17, 200619 yr OK Fabio , now I understand better your problem. The J16 is added later on the fsio board, it has to be set when making changes to the IO board. So in your case it is not important at the moment. The settings are good (if you use a 4Mhz ceramic resonator) see the manual. They are different for a 4mhz chrystal. You use the special 6pin flashcable? You get the write succesful message? But you do not see anything when testing in fsadmin? If you connect the powert to your fsbussystem , you should see the cid on the display of the controller connected to the display for some seconds, do you see that.If not , and if you see nothing when testing in fsadmin, on you r display, I am afraid there is somewhere a cold solder or a shortcut.Thats almost always the case when there is trouble.regardsNorbert
August 17, 200619 yr "You use the special 6pin flashcable?" Yes"You get the write succesful message?" Yes"But you do not see anything when testing in fsadmin?"Exactly, when I move the cursors testing in FsAdmin all turn offWhen I connect power to my Fsbus system I see on the 7segment display the number 31 for some seconds. If I remove the jumper J2 and I do again the operation the result is the same. (number 31 for some seconds). If I set CID (for example ID Number 2) 3 times with fsadmin and do again the operation the result is the same. (number 31 for some seconds). One question :While I'm flashing 3 times with fsadim (for example ID Number 2) should I see in the 7segment display the number 2 ?and when I connect power to my Fsbus system should I see on the 7segment display the number 2 for some seconds ? Thanks a lot for your help NorbertciaoFabioItaly

August 24, 200619 yr Have solution.5 offer, 5 success! (same problem: flash via PonyProg, then only "5" or "31" result)!!!! CKSEL3 =0 !!!!other bits set by PDF file:CKSEL2 =1CKSEL1 =0CKSEL0 =0SUT1 =1SUT0 =0Write security bits and set CID.. no problem now.
November 6, 200619 yr History :- FsBus six display board was not working so I thinked that all the Attiny2313 were broken- I ordered other six Attiny2313 but in the meantime two months passed.- The new Attiny arrived but only three of these worked.- In these 2 months I didn't notice that Mr.Baw751 had made a very important message.- Infact the other day I changed in Pony Prog the security bits and set CKSEL3=0 and everything works.- Even the old six Attiny2313 work with this setting. Conclusion :9 Attiny2313 of 12 work with CKSEL3=0 and three can work with both configuration setting...WHY ???Anyway I think that is very important to inform Mr.Dirk to change his manual. What do you think about?Bye and thank you very muchFabio, Italy
