August 17, 200619 yr Hey, does anyone know where I can find a cheap-ish USB Throttle Quadrant? I know about CH Throttles, but I don't really want one of those. Preferably one that resembles a twin engine jet aircraft. Its just I've been flying on FS 2004 since 2003 with only a Saitek ST90, and I think its time I made the experience a bit more realistic!Cheers
August 17, 200619 yr Not cheap but worth a look:http://www.flypfc.com/tquadconsole/tquad.htmlI did not like the CH-Throttle aswell, so that's why I built my own 2-engine quadrant. Material cost 60$, but I spent up to 40 hours of design and machineshop dutytime. There's always a drawback.Regards - Valentin
August 17, 200619 yr Thankyou again for replying. I think its better making your own... kind of.. You get a sense of accomplishment when you make you own. Its just you need the patience and time! :-)
August 21, 200619 yr suncom f-18 split throttle. it was designed to work as a hotas with the suncom f-15 talon. it is kinda weird, f-18 throttle with f-15 stick. theres 2 set of stick and throttle on now ebay for about $20. the f-18 throttle has two levers for both engines. problem: its a gameport throttle.http://www.combatsim.com/archive/htm/htm_arc4/sunthr.htm
August 21, 200619 yr With some additional invesment and labor, of course, the gameport device can be replaced by usb controllerFor example Open cockpit usb card or betainnovations module here the link:http://betainnovations.com/another option is http://www.lbodnar.dsl.pipex.com/joystick/index.htmlDissasebled old usb joysick electonic is alsow an option if thats meets your needs--quantity of buttons and axesSo you may use the mechanicks , pots, and buttons of you purchassed gameport device and with addition of usb module electronics, enjoy the advantages of usb connectionHope thats helps
