Featured Replies

Hello,I am building a home cockpit and working on the main intrument panel.Does anybody know were to purchase intrument gauge bezels? I am looking for both square and round type. If not, doas anybody have advise on how to go about make some ( materials, tools, etc)? Thanks much,Polmer

Polmer,You can make square ones using layers of sheet aluminum and clear plastic. You will find details here: http://www.mikesflightdeck.com/Downloads/B...e%20Chapter.pdf Mikewww.mikesflightdeck.comwww.mikesflightdeckbooks.com

HelloBezel? Is this the same as an instrument front ring?I made mine out of aluminium. But I am in the lucky situation to have access to a lathing machine.Buy option: --> www.simkits.com in the Netherlands. They sell 2 types of black round bezels. There are cockpit builders how use two layers of cutted wood panels. One in the shape of a circuluar bezel and the other more square or octagonal. Both items are then glued together. If you add "fake" screws (cutted bolts) and paint everything, it might look really good.

Yes,Bezel=instrument front ringI, unfortunetly do not have acces to a lathing machine, but will see what I can do with some sintra pvc board ,a drummel tool and a steady hand....gulp.IF it looks shabby, I can always get out the wallet. Thanks,Polmer
