December 28, 200619 yr Hello folks out there im thinking strongly to going glass cockpit because FSX is still new and I would have to come up with a whole lot of upgrades to get it up to performance. But I have been thinking what is the advantage of glass cockpit over using add-on planes like pdmg and level d (which at the moment cannot be done). What im wanting to do is use FSX scenery and such on main server? And use the glass software on another COM networked. (Boeing)I also use wideview and widefs and triplehead2go, the main server will have the three views thru triplehead2go and FSX.The one client will have all of the glass software on it networked thru widefs and I will have another COM networked to run active sky, radar contact, fs commander etc. While I will have two more coms running the left view and right view thru wideview. This does sound workable the question is can I run all glass software on one COM.I guess I need to know when you have the glass software installed and ready to go, does it function as if it is apart of the sim, and does the software knows what plane it is in.Also by using glass software over the net does that help frame rate in FSX by using just the scenery and such.Im not for sure how this works but im doing some research and will be using the demo, just wanted to know if anyone out here has a set up using glass software and FSX.Thanks

So you should setup a startup situation file with the plane you build your cockpit around.>Also by using glass software over the net does that help frame>rate in FSX by using just the scenery and such.Yes, I only use FS2004, but FSX will be the same I think. Just remove your complete instrumentpanel in fs2004 and you will see some gain in framerate >Im not for sure how this works but im doing some research and>will be using the demo, just wanted to know if anyone out here>has a set up using glass software and FSX.No real difference in setting up a network for a cockit between fs2004 and fsx.regardsnorberthttp://home.wanadoo.nl/norbert.bosch/
December 28, 200619 yr I confirm what Norbert wrote...I'm currently using my ATR72 glass cockpit without problems on a networked laptop (with a 15.4" LCD) equipped with a Celeron class processor. The only thing to care of is the size of the screen where the soft instruments will be displayed.Regards,Bob
