January 5, 200719 yr Is there absolutely NO improved airfile for the Lear 45 at all? Please, someone speak up. Im sure there has to be one somewhere. For some reason the default L45 is giving me all sorts of pitch problems and I dont know what to do to make it less sensitive. I have recalibrated my CH yoke several times now. Suggestions?(for those wondering, I know that the default FS9 a/c arent very good, but this is for a flight deck project, so I just wanted to advise that I have a hangar full of ES, PMDG, etc. I just need a good Lear 45 now).
January 5, 200719 yr I have no idea but maybe someone in the Aircraft and Panel Design forum may know how to tame the Lear.Regards,Richard
January 5, 200719 yr Hi EricIf you open up the Lear aircraft.cfg file in notepad and go down to the following section:(flight_tuning)cruise_lift_scalar = 1.0parasite_drag_scalar = 1.0induced_drag_scalar = 1.0elevator_effectiveness = 1.0aileron_effectiveness = 1.0rudder_effectiveness = 1.0pitch_stability = 1.0roll_stability = 1.0yaw_stability = 1.0elevator_trim_effectiveness = 1.0aileron_trim_effectiveness = 1.0rudder_trim_effectiveness = 1.0Play around with different values to get the sort of responsiveness you want eg. for pitch, try changing pitch_stability to 3 or 5 or more. You will also probably need to adjust the elevator effectiveness. Its trial and error but a good result can be achieved. Why Microsoft can't get these flight models right with supposed "real pilot's" checking them is beyond me. In fairness everybody's system/joystick will be probably different and give a different response.Hope the above helps you out
January 7, 200719 yr Ian,Thanks heaps, I will try this. I was on the verge of delving into this, just wasnt too sure. I appreciate it!BTW, I found a file on Flightsim.com that seems to work much better but it's an FS98 flt model, in the FS9 aircraft. Works good for the most part, but the pitch with full flaps creates a bit of nose up more than it should. I wonder why no vendor has ever taken the time to produce a quality Lear 45? An XR version would be splendid...
