FSBus NG I/O problem

Featured Replies

Hello all,I bumped into trouble with my NG I/O card:The Digital out part works ok but the KEY IN section fails.In FSADMIN (2.4.3.) if i connect 1 switch to ROW 0 KEY 0 and turn the switch i see in the diagnostic window:(switch on)KEY 0 0KEY 8 1(switch on)KEY 0 0KEY 8 1I think i should see:(switch on)KEY 0 1(switch off)KEY 0 0OR if i put the switch to ROW 1 i getKEY 8 0KEY 16 1KEY 8 0KEY 16 1etc.I don't know if this is a hardware or software issue...Anybody with same kind of problems ?

You have a shortcut between 2 lines. It is too long ago since I made them to tell you right away between which 2 lines.Everything is close together on that part of that part of the board. I had a few short myself here in this part.regardsNorberthttp://home.wanadoo.nl/norbert.bosch/

Hello,I am not sure i agree :)since in router if i do the KEY TEST i see only 1 change when i press the switch with short i think i should see as 2 buttons were pressed ? And funny thin is, that in Admin i have something from every key, but on the Router side only ROW 0 works no matter where i connect the switch :(So i will get on KEY TEST10000000on each KEY from 0 to 7 but nothing up from 8 to 63I will continue my search, i just finished another PCB where i routed few lines a little different to get more space between. And now the minimum width is 0.4mm insted of 0.3mm for the lines.

Keytest function in the router is NOT voor the NG boards but for the classis fskey board.I suppose you have NG boards? Then everything has to work in fsadmin before continuing to the router software.I have only one explanation for your problem, shorts. regardsNorbert

OK,I will take the board to work tomorrow and take a loop to check the lines. Funny thing is, i can't find any shorts with a multimeter.I was already thinking this is a timing issue, with maybe a faulty crystal or a faulty condenser etc.Robert, i saw you have used metal film condensers, i have ceramic in my board. Also i got an e-mail from Dirk and he said i should make the new layout PCB with J16 on it.Mika
