July 30, 200718 yr HelloWould like to hear, if someone has any experience with this, or someone has a set-up with G1000 and hardware?I haven
August 8, 200718 yr Hi Jan,Regarding the PM GAGC. It is a good product. BUT it is more like in beta stage. Perhaps it is the best G1000 external simulation for FS available currently. If talk about functionality, it is not complete yet. And there is quite a distance to complete. Why I say so?! Because it miss 80% of typical Garmin GPS functions. You may download the demo and give it a try.Like other PM software, it is always in developing stages. The developer is quick in solving problems if you got any. But do not expect frequent update. So, is your decision to go or no go.Hope this is helpful to youAlkit
August 10, 200718 yr Alkit, thank you for your reply! It sure is helpful :-)I think it is a go. The reason? Well, i`m building a Columbia 400 sim, and my plan is to use the PM GA-GC with the built-in autopilot and radio functions, the PFD of course with the heading and course knobs etc., and use the MFD mainly to show the engine read-outs. This will save me a lot of money on hardware like steam-gauges, radio stack etc.I want to build a "hardware" GNS-530 GPS anyway, and make that control the GPS-functions in my set-up, although this is not 100% real world, being a mix of the Garmin and the Avidyne set-up in the Columbia. But hey, I can live with that :-)I bought the Eaglesoft Columbia, and use this as flightmodel. That made me skip all my airliner cockpit-plans. What a great airplane this is!!Thanks again.
August 11, 200718 yr Hi,The real G1000 is surely a smart cockpit system.I would suggest you to try the PM GAGC demo first. GAGC doesn't come with a complete working autopilot. It is in developing status (on the beta). It works but not that good and smooth yet.Radios are fine.I am a happy user of it. However, I still want you to make sure this is what you want to get (in terms of functions). If you have any technical question, write to the PM support email. They reply fast.Alkit
