FSBUS resetting problem

Featured Replies

Hello fellow fsbus users.Today I connected my pedestal to my fsbus hardware.I upgraded to CDK. In fact everything works as it should.But..I see almost every minute a resetting of fsbus (displays show their CID). After that most displays come back to live, but some do that only after I turn a rotary (connected to that display via the software). This only happens when I push/ turn button on my pedestal or when I change something in FS with my mouse. It does not occur spontaneously.I first thought it could perhaps be caused by the clutter of all the flatcables I have in my pedestal, but resetting does not occur after I close cdk. With the current still on my fsbus and turning at everything, resetting does not occur.Any ideas?regardsNorbertPS Is it normal that after running cdk , not all the displays come to live? Some do that only after turning at a rotary. Also the decimal point do not show up every time, very weird.

Norbert,I am not even close to the level you're at, but I seem to remember that with the first CDK release the display's didn't populate until the rotaries were changed. Are you on 1.0.5? Although I'm still testing things out, I havn't had that issue for awhile. Also, I have never experienced the reset issue you are having. Hope that helps a little after all the help you've given me here and from your website!Eric

I found the solution. After experimenting I noticed that when the 9th display was connected I got a reset. Did not matter which display. I tried everything. My fsbus hardware was ok. When I connected only 8 everuthing was OK.I looked at the specs of my 7 segm leds. They use 20 mA for evry segment. That means a "1" uses 40mA and a "8" 140 mA.My 5 V source gives 0,8 Ampere. So thats far too less for 11 displays with 54 7 segment leds.I used an old PC powersupply. (You have to rebuild it a bit bacause mostly they do not start without hardware connected, use google). It gives 14 A at 5VNow everything works OK.regardsNorbert

Good to hear/read you found the issue. I will have to recheck my ps as I used a PC's too. Eric
