Improving CH Products Pedals

Featured Replies

I've just replaced my *old* (very old) original ch pedals (non pro) with USB pro ones. But I'm not entirely satisfied with them to be honest (from searching I must be the only one!), the problem which has immediately struck me (and I've only spent an hour or so using them) is the horrible horrible "detent" at the center position, it just feels wrong and makes it IMO really hard to get a smooth transition between rudder positions. Additionally they feel much too easy to move not really requiring much pressure at all, they can be moved easily with one finger, which again makes it *really* difficult to get nice smooth control with your big sloppy inaccurate leg muscles pushing against such an easy to move rudder. But to get "out of" the detent seems to require just that teensy bit more pressure than to move them, so I find adding enough pressure until they "let go" and then with the lower resistance it over-applys.Am I really the only one to not like these "features". Has anybdoy looked at modifying the pedals to try and remove the detent and increase resistance?

The CH Pedals (an all low-budget pedals for that matter) use springs to emulate the force and that is what makes the horrible detent. One way could be to replace the springs with hydraulic tubes that are hard enough to push and don't return to the neutral so fast. But I don't think that the plastic construction of the CH Pedals would withstand the pressure.Has anybody done such a modification ?George DorkofikisAthens, Hellashttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/811520/1704.png
