How to build a simple cockpit?

Featured Replies

I would like to build a simple cocpit to use with FSX. It should be really simple, somewhat similar to the Sim Cockpit System SCS-T4. Does anyone have a detailed instructions or plans (with dimensions) that you can share with me?Thanks,Artee

Artee,I don't know if there are any detailed plans available. Most of us just take the space we have and build something that will fit. I built a simple one a few years ago but I just threw it together to fit me. This is the best way to not only learn some construction techniques but to help you develop ideas for future cockpits. Google home cockpits and you will find many links to those that have dared to dabble in cockpit building. This is the best way to get a feel for what you can do.Regards,Jasonwww.flightdecksoft.comhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/189904.jpg

Hey Artee,I am building a simple cockpit that I found plans for on the following link: http://www.ctv.es/USERS/matradi/cockpit.htm#STARTING%20POINTThere is a lot of info ouot there...in fact I think there is information overload. The key points which I have found to be the most relevant:-Keep it simple - easier to alter/upgrade later-Easy to build - if it's too hard to put together, you'll lose interest-Have a budget - There are so many add ons, you could truely spend $1000+This is an excellent site to look at too: http://fscockpit.com/Good luck with it, happy skies!!! :)
