resizing FS GPS in a 7' second screen

Featured Replies

Hello,I've a 7' LCD screen connected in the second output of my 8800gtxand configured as second screen 800*600 32b in windows.I want to display the FS default garmin 500 GPS deported in this screen without bezel with the normal cockpit view on my first display. Some questions:Is it possible to edit the .cab gauge and delele the bezel bmp or remove it from the xml code of the gauge to have a full screen display of the GPS screen ?Is there another way to resize (zoom) the GPS to let just the display appear in the 7' without the bezel ?How work the panel.ini [Window02]size_mm=456,378window_size=0.5position=8BACKGROUND_COLOR=0,0,0VISIBLE=0ident=GPS_PANELgauge00=fs9gps!gps_500, 0,0I've problem to see whats the function of size-mm, window_sizeand position ...Thank's for your helpByeBOB

You can delete the bezel on the RealityXP GNS so I see no reason why it would not work on the FS default. I have not tried it on the default one since I use the RXP GPS.Here is an old post explaing it:http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=11260

If you are using FSX drop me a note and I will send you a modified CAB file with the bezel removed. Here is the Panel, cfg for the GPS display[Window02]size_mm=350,260 //456,378window_size=1position=8BACKGROUND_COLOR=0,0,0VISIBLE=0ident=GPS_PANELgauge00=fs9gps!gps_500, 0,0"[email protected]"Take care Davehttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/194103.jpg

Thank's for your helpI still use FS9 in my cockpit. How do you remove the bezel ?You just delete the bitmap in the archive or modify it ?What soft do you use to decapsulate and recapsulate the .cab ?GreetingsBOB

BobYou can open the CAB files with WIN ZIP. Modify the files and re pack the CAB file with a cab maker program (see attached) My modified file should work with FS9. To large to post in this forum.Dave

>Thank's for your help>>I still use FS9 in my cockpit.>>How do you remove the bezel ?>You just delete the bitmap in the archive or modify it ?>What soft do you use to decapsulate and recapsulate the .cabYou don't really need to "remove" it. If the GPS is in a separate window, as the case often is with a small add-on LCD screen, you just place the bezel "outside" the window by putting top left coordinates as negative, and bottom right so that they also go past the window edge. This way the only thing that shows in the screen is the LCD part. This is easy to do with FS Panel Studio, for example, or doable also with Notepad with some trial and error.See the simforums post for how I did it (gah, it's almost 3 years since..)- T

Hello, i tried it with negative values with original FS GPS, and it does not work :-(Philippe
