September 6, 200223 yr For those of you who don't want to shell out $25 just now for the new Marchetti, it seems you can get a taste of just how good these guys are at flight modelling on their freeware page. They have airfiles there for the Cessna 182S and land-based Caravan 208B, which I certainly hadn't found before; together with some very detailed repaints of the 182. Those of you who promptly yell "WHAT? Default 'planes? Forgeddaboudit!" need read no further: but you will be missing something. They've also put together some sexy metallic textures for the 182 with real detail.I haven't even tried the Caravan file yet; but the smaller Cessna files like a dream! Man, oh man. I already had an alternative airfile in place from another worthy designer, but the Real Air one is exceptional. I had to look at my hardware twice to make sure I didn't have something caught around my yoke: the heavy feel, with it's slight delay and measured response, is just awesome. Using my joystick, my regular stick now feels like an FF unit (and I do have both). Really!Give it a try yourself. With my Dreamfleet panel in place, Aaron Swindle's modified sounds and the new textures, I'm off to fly default again. And again. My God! High frame rates and pan speed in VC! I'd forgotten what it was like!Well done, those men. And if you all knew about these files already, forgive me.
