how do i increce frame rates?

Featured Replies

hi there..i have a P4 at 1.2 with 512 RD ram and a Radeon 8500LE video card. i can only get up to 24 frames max and i go down to 3 minumum...is there any way to boost up the frames? my max frames are set to 40. any reply would be helpfull

Set that max to 20. It's quite enough, anything more is wasted. Then pull the mesh complexity lever back to 60-70%. All that does is make terrain the far distance (on the far horizon) less detailed but it's rendered so small (and lost in the haze) that you don't see that detail anyway.Turn aircraft texture size from massive to large, scenery texture size down 1 from the max as well.turning off shadows can also have a huge impact, especially if you like to fly in sunny weather during dusk/dawn.All of those have little visible impact but have a big effect on performance.

If you fly into a lot of AI heavy areas also turn off aircraft reflections. You dont need them and may gain 5-7 fps in busy airports with them disabled.
