Help keeping my joystick assignments

I have a Saitek stick and use Dauzheimer's drivers. Every time I unplug and replug the joystick, XP automatically reloads it's default Saitek drivers. This is bad enough, but if I don't catch it before I start fs2k2 (and cfs2 for that matter), all my stick and throttle assignments are replaced by the default ones, and I have to go through the whole tedious process again. When I check fs2002.cfg, it sure looks like all my custom assignments are still there. For good measure, I backed up fs2002.cfg and recopied the joystick sections the next time I had a problem. No good...still comes up with the default assignments in the game, even though the cfg file looks like it has the right ones. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing here? Can the assgnments be retained?
