Sorry, folks, but yet again I'm finding the oddball ones. The problem is, again, with the FS2002 ATC. Here's the situation...Flight plan is from (SimFlyers) KHPL to (out of the box) KBNA. Everything through about 14,000 is good. The weirdness happens with the call "Learjet LZ-NSB, contact Washington Center on . Good day."Normally, I'm lazy and let the radios autotune. This time, however, I didn't have that option. The only thing that I had available to me was "1. Cancel IFR." Okay, I change the radio manually... and ZDC never picks me up. Ever. I finally cancel IFR, request flight following (at FL310) and get myself to Nashville on my own.Anybody else run into such a thing, or are y'all just going to think I've developed a SERIOUS crack problem out here in suburban Philly?

Hey, so you're from Philly too?Anyway, yes, a similar occurance has happened to me. I've had ATC give me an instruction to report traffic in sight, and then before being able to respond, tell me to contact approach on whatever. At this point the only option is to still report the traffic in sight, which I do. After that, nothing. Just "Select Airport Option" (I was VFR at the time). ATC had considered me to be gone since I responded to them after being handed off, even though that wasn't what I was responding to. Kinda weird. Its happened to me at least twice. I guess MS needs to keep fine tuning that ATC engine.Joe Wagner

Its one of the many flaws in ATC within FS2002. If you do not respond in a reasonable about of time, your IFR clearance will be cancelled. Wait until you are late on a decent from cruise altitude to your transition altitude.

I recieved clearance to land and was on the glide path inside the middle marker, and the controler gave clearance to a cessna to take off on the runway that I was almost touching. Just before I touched the end the controler told me to go around. This was no emergency, just a plain screwup. I doubt this could happen in real life, at least I hope not. This other plane was entering the runway directly in front of me. Luckily, I pulled up and saved it. Scary!! Don

>Its one of the many flaws in ATC within FS2002. If you do >not respond in a reasonable about of time, your IFR >clearance will be cancelled. That, I'm familiar with. The weird part on this one was that I was still IFR, just with the world's most powerful TRACON radar set, apparently.

>Hey, so you're from Philly too? "From" is an awkward question to ask a fella who grew up on military installations around the world.... Although I did appear to settle in the Philly metro area. >mocking Main Line lockjaw< I'm on the Western Main Line, thank you very much.>I guess MS needs to keep fine tuning that ATC >engine. Keep fine-tuning? I think "start" would be the more accurate verb here.
