June 19, 200223 yr SimNASA today has announced that is has currently reworking several factors that will delay the first series of Apollo missions. In early May, SimNASA disclosed that it was its intention to start its Apollo program in June; however officials at the agency have further clarified the position by stating that "several technological advances still needed to be completed before Apollo operations initiated." Early this month SimNASA was dealt a sever setback when one of its primary designers left the project because of real world commitments. "Our current equipment is not enough.... we will NOT rush things at the expense of a promising career at SimNASA. As per our long standing policy we will not sacrifice safety and accuracy for time." Public Relations Officer Alex Schlesinger told reporters. SimNASA is currently seeing those with scenery design experience, CSL file creation experience, and C++ programming skills in developing applications for use in the Apollo program. "We are looking for anyone with the desire and willingness to help the organization along." Some of the application currently needing assistance is an interface application between Orbiter and Squawkbox which will allow launches to be observed in the VATSIM environment. Those interested in assisting are urged to contact [email protected]. Mission Control Teams are also needed for the Apollo project. We would ask that anyone remotely interested in participating contact [email protected] to apply. In addition the administrative staff will be releasing a detailed plan on how they will overcome the current roadblocks in getting to the moon. This plan includes several senior officers and astronauts directly responsible for specific items in development and testing."We WILL, and emphasize WILL get to the moon, we just have to take our time and keep this an enjoyable experience while at the same time stay professional. Your help in making this happen would be greatly appreciated. "
