August 17, 200223 yr PRESS RELEASEFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEChicago, August 16, 2002 - Virtual United Airlines (NYSE:VUAL) today announced that it will begin new seasonal weekend service between the carrier's east-coast hub at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Aruba's Reina Beatrix Airport (AUA). The new service will begin December 14 through April 26, and will be flown using Airbus 320 aircraft configured for two classes of service with Virtual United's popular Economy Plus product. "This new service is an ideal addition to the extensive international service Virtual United offers its customers from Washington Dulles," said Glen Lewis, Virtual United Airlines executive vice president - chief operating officer. "We are proud to now offer our customers access to Aruba as an additional choice when planning a Caribbean getaway." Aruba's Minister of Tourism and Transportation Edison Briesen warmly welcomes the new service from Virtual United Airlines to the island. "With Aruba's steady growth in tourism from North America, particularly the greater Washington D.C. area, we are very excited about Virtual United Airlines decision to add nonstop flights to Aruba," said Briesen. Virtual United Flight #1987 will depart Washington Dulles on Saturday at 8:40AM and arrive in Aruba at 12:12PM. The return flight, #1986, will depart Aruba on Saturday at 4:40PM and arrive in Washington at 8:30PM.
