August 25, 200223 yr The first EVA of the moon was completed today at 6:40:30 UT this morning after Astronaut Boudreaux and Robinson completed a number of experiments on the moon in addition to collecting about 65 kilograms of rocks and soil for scientist to study upon their return.With a total EVA time of 52 minutes, Boudreaux and Robinson deployed no less than three experiments that collected solar wind samples, measure moon quakes, and a laser reflecting device to accurately measure the distance to the moon.After completing the Lunar EVA, the crew of Apollo 10 is now in a schedule sleep cycle for the next six to seven hours. Around 15:00 UT (11:00 EDT) the crew of Apollo 10 will be awaken to begin preparations for their return back to Earth. The first critical hurdle the crew faces is the ignition of the accent stage of their lunar vehicle. Failure of this component would spell almost certain doom for the two astronaut explorers. The second crucial task for the Apollo 10 crew happens after the crew moon crew returns to the Command Module "Gaea". The crew will fire the main engine on their Service Module, a burn that must be precise in order for the crew to make it back to Earth.
