September 17, 200223 yr The CEO's of Falcon Airways and Virtual Air Canada are pleased to announce the merger of Falcon Airways into Virtual Air Canada set for September 30, 2002.Falcon Airways was characterized by its operational systems that make virtual flying "as real as it gets". Among others let us mention the absolute revision of each aircraft dynamics and performance, the flight dispatch system, the automatic weight and balance system that generates a modified aircraft.cfg file, etc. These advanced database systems will be replacing into Virtual Air Canada's current system, which is not as advanced.Virtual Air Canada is one of the longest running virtual airlines in Canada along with Falcon Airways. Open since early 1998, Virtual Air Canada has been nominated for many awards over the years, including Best Airline, Best Website and Best Fleet at the 2000 VA Awards. Over the years, Virtual Air Canada has strived to simulate Air Canada as much as possible, and has been quite successful in doing so.The objectives of the merged company is to improve Virtual Air Canada's current replication the real Air Canada's operations, as much as it is possible, while also providing the best and most enjoyable service to virtual pilots around the globe. The three executives of Falcon Airways, Harvey Stein, Daniel Boulay and Richard Durocher will be given senior positions in Virtual Air Canada after the merger, while current Virtual Air Canada executives will keep their positions. The name 'Falcon Airways' might still be used in the future as it was offered to those pilots that would decide not to join the merged company.Falcon Airways and Virtual Air Canada executives foresees a very strong and promising future for what will once again be the largest operating virtual airline in Canada.Richard DurocherVice-President, Falcon Airways(Senior VP - Commercial, Virtual Air Canada)
