VATSIM - SPECIAL OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATION'S FIRST ANNUAL AIR SHOW & CHANGE OF COMMAND TATTOO Virtual Randolph A.F.B. TX 15-SEP-02 - The VATSIM Special Operations Administration announced today that they will be holding their FIRST annual air show on 12-OCT-02. The air show will also be the host event for the change of command tattoo ceremony for the position of Assistant Director Special Operations Administration VATSIM / Chief of Staff United Nations Air Forces. The air show is to be held at: (KMUO) Mountain Home A.F.B. near Boise Idaho from 2300 hrs Zulu to 0300 Hrs Zulu. The SOA is currently made up of a total of eleven affiliate organizations with a cumulative membership well over 700+ in the following affiliates: simNASA, Virtual United States Coast Guard, Virtual United States Navy, Virtual United States Air Force, Virtual Civil Air Patrol, Virtual United States Army, Australian Virtual Defense Forces, Virtual United Kingdom Defense Forces, Virtual Latin American Air Forces, Virtual Canadian Air Forces, and the newly forming UNAF Air Traffic Control ARTCC (ZUNF). The UNAF origins date back to the days of SATCO as a Military V.A. with five founding members and three affiliate groups. The event is to commemorate nearly four years of active service of Robert Phillips, the current Assistant director as well as Welcome the newly elected replacement Todd Cox. The official Change of Command is on 01-OCT-02 however, the event is scheduled on the 12th for maximum participation of SOA members and the general public. vGen. William "Bill" Pope, Commander of the vUSAF was quoted as saying " The purpose of the event is to say farewell to a member in a position, and welcome a new one. It is a matter of respect". The event is open to the general public to attend, each affiliate of the SOA plans to provide many aircraft from their ranks in a wide diversity for the public to view. Their will be a MASTER OF CEREMONY at the event who will announce activities for the general public via ROGER WILCO VOICE (see Below for the itinerary of events). Mountain Home A.F.B. offers spacious ramp areas as well as a large runway to accommodate the the heaviest of airframes. General Public who plan to attend are asked to review the EVENT DETAILS below for parking information. LOCATION: MOUNTAIN HOME A.F.B. (KMUO)HOST ATC INFORMATION: SLC_ARTCC & ZUNFITINERARY Order of events (all times in zulu):2300-0030: General UNAF membership arrives as well as General Public, all aircraft to be parked and shutdown by 0030hrs.0030 - 0100: JCS member personnel arrive at KMUO individually or their appointed representative. Will be announced by the MC on Roger Wilco. 0030: 11-ship formation departs KMUO to form up and hold at Twin Falls VOR.0105: Upon arrival of the JCS members, 11-ship formation flyby to render honors. Will be announced by the MC on Roger Wilco. 0120: 11-ship formation fully recovered and parked at KMUO.0130: RW voice for all to listen, change of command over voice.0140 - 0300: General chat with members, UNAF and public, pattern work, etc. will need to establish a RW for general chat (ceremonies channel) and one for TWR/APP.0300: event concludes.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------All aircraft must be parked in the designated areas as shown below by 0030 Hrs UTC. SLC_ARTCC and ZUNF will be providing ATC facilities for all aircraft. Also ZUNF will also provide Precision Approach Radar (PAR) and Airport Surveillance Radar (ASR) at Mountain Home A.F.B. To utilize one of these approach systems, Roger Wilco and MOPAR transponder ARE REQUIRED (See Below for links).
