Columbia Memorial Fly-In

Featured Replies

SimNASA shall conduct a memorial fly-in for the STS-107 crew on Sunday, February 9, 2002 from 4 PM to 6 PM Eastern Time. The location of the fly-in will be Ellington Field (KEFD), Texas. Of course this event will be open to all NVAS pilots with SimNASA being the sponsoring agency of the event. Since SimNASA is the only space agency modeled after NASA participating on the NVAS network, it is appropriate in our view to conduct this event. It is also SimNASA's intent to provide the manning for Ellington Tower and coordinate with the Houston ARTCC for usage. As part of this memorial event, SimNASA would also like to conduct a seven person missing man fly-over of Ellington Field going east to west at the conclusion of this fly-in. This fly-in will consist of T-38N aircraft used by the SimNASA Astronaut Corps. Of course we are sensitive to the needs that this horrific event has had upon those of us who closely watch the manned space flight arena."All pilots interested in attending should go to http://www.nvas.net - an online virtual aviation environment where this fly-in shall be held. Pilots are required to get a Pilot ID to fly in this environment.SimNASA: "Do YOU have the right stuff?"http://www.simnasa.org
