The next phase of SimNASA launches include the extensive SkyLab missions. The beginning of these long-duration manned space missions will further set SimNASA into virtual history.SkyLab I, to be launched March 11, the initial flight of the program series, will be an unmanned launch of the station itself into orbit. "SimNASA has taken precautions to prevent a repeat of the operational problems faced by the historical station," Chuck Boudreaux, SkyLab Program Director, stated to reporters. SkyLab ILaunch: 11 Mar 2003 @ 2200 hrs GMTLaunch Complex 39AMJD: 52709.916667Launch Azimuth 42 degreesSkyLab II, to be launched just days later on March 16, will be SimNASA's first SkyLab manned flight. This mission launches the first crew to this space station. "This crew will concentrate on getting the station operational and thoroughly tested as a safe science platform. The mission will last approximately 30 days," Boudreaux mentioned. The SkyLab II crew shall consist of: CDR Brad Hodges, CSM Pilot Keith Watt, and Science Pilot Drew Hosick.
