May 4, 200323 yr Hello! My name is Rick Wooton and I founded EAC in February of 2003, because I wanted something "extra" from the VA I fly for. I am a real world private pilot with well over 300,000 real hours of flight sim experience (going all the way back to 1987 with the SubLogic Flight Sim for Commodore 64!). Yes, I fly my sim almost every day!I, like many of you, dreamed of being able to fly commercially, and I fulfill that dream with a VA. But I don't think it's enough to just fly boring commercial routes used by the airlines every day - I wanted something more challenging and entertaining, and many of my friends in the VA world feel the same way. Many VA's will occassionally give their pilots custom flights to unusual destinations such as bush trips or flights to destinations not normally serviced by the airline they represent, but EAC does this on a daily basis! While we also fly scheduled routes of many airlines, and fly the same kinds of planes they do, we also create challenging flights with a wider variety of aircraft that make the flight sim experience a lot more fun! For example, I've personally flown over 2000 hours with other VA's that I really enjoyed, but they represent real world airlines that have a specific route, with only certain aircraft, and don't fly to some of the destinations I enjoy flying to. Have you ever tried an instrument approach into Kathmandu, Tibet? How about bringing a heavy aircraft into Ivato Airport in Madagascar? (Did you know that airport was in a hole?) Or for a real challenge, try to get ANYTHING into tiny Pahala Airstrip (HI28) on the Big Island of Hawaii! (The field is in a cliff face, and is only 1650' long!)Thus, Eagle Air Charter was born. Our ranking schedule is set up in such a way that pilots can progress quickly through the ranks and have the opportunity to fly more and larger aircraft to far more destinations, and our fleet consists of over 40 aircraft of all types - many more than ANY real world airline. If you enjoy flying your sim as much as I do, and want something better from a VA - consider flying with us!Welcome aboard!
