May 15, 200323 yr The AirWeGo Group Aircraft Fleet has changed dramatically in the last twelve months. From operating over fourteen different types in early 2002 this has been trimmed to just eight aircraft types. The decision to reduce the Fleet was made after discussion at the Annual General Meeting in 2002 after it was felt the this high number of aircraft did not truly reflect the size of airline the management wanted to operate. A secondary concern over the resources required to sustain the Fleet also affected the decision. The smallest commercial airliner in the Fleet is the Beechcraft B1900D. This nineteen seat aircraft operates from all four base stations of the Group (Aberdeen, Cardiff, Humberside and Manchester). A fact it shares with only the Embraer ERJ145. Primarily it flies only to destinations in the UK but European destinations feature from Aberdeen and Humberside. In seating capacity terms the Saab 340B is the next step up in the Fleet. This aircraft, holding just over thirty passengers, flies only from Humberside on a mixture of routes.Flying from Humberside and Manchester only the ATR42-300 fits into the forty-seat bracket. This aircraft along with the Embraer ERJ145 are considered the workhorses of the Fleet. With up to ten sectors a day flown by these aircraft in the UK and Europe their high level of reliability was crucial in their selection and subsequent retention in the Aircraft Fleet.A UK designed and manufactured aircraft, the BAe 146-300, operates from Manchester to a range of destinations including Dublin and the infamous (In the AirWeGo Crewroom) Helsinki
