June 6, 200323 yr The vUSAF www.vusaf.org is pleased to announce the opening of the 60th Air Mobility Wing, based at Travis Air Force Base California. The 60th Air Mobility Wing is the largest wing in Air Mobility Command. The wing operates and maintains 37 C-5 and 27 KC-10 aircraft through six operations and eight logistics squadrons supporting global engagement of troops, supplies, and equipment. The 60th AMW will be commanded by Colonel Brandon Vorhees, vUSAF whose previous command experience includes command of the 349th Air Mobility Wing for the vUSAF Air Force Reserve Command.Questions regarding this news release may be directed to [email protected]
