United States Virtual Air CorpsHeadquartersWashington, D.C.04-004 29 March 2004MEMORANDUM FOR SEE DISTRIBUTIONSUBJECT: New AwardsIn order to keep up with our real world counterparts, the Headquarters Group of the United States Virtual Air Corps has authorized 5 new service awards. The awards and criteria are as follows:1. Global War on Terrorism Service Medal - awarded to any member who served from a period of inception of the USVAC to a date yet to be determined.2. Global War on Terrorism Iraq Service Medal - awarded to any member who served in the Iraq theater for 30 or more days from a period inception of the USVAC to a date yet to be determined.3. Global War on Terrorism Afghanistan Service Medal - awarded to any member who served in the Afghanistan theater for 30 or more days from a period inception of the USVAC to a date yet to be determined.4. Global War on Terrorism Special Operations Service Medal - awarded to any member who served in the Iraq and/or Afghanistan theater in a special operations occupational specialty for 30 or more days from a period inception of the USVAC to a date yet to be determined.5. Global War on Terrorism Humanitarian Service Medal - awarded to any member who served in the Iraq and/or Afghanistan theater in a 13 series occupational specialty for 30 or more days from a period inception of the USVAC to a date yet to be determined.These awards are listed in their order of precedence and will be placed before the Air Corps Training Ribbon on your personnel record.
