July 20, 200421 yr CLASSIC ALOHA HANGAR DOORS OFFICIALLY OPEN--Honolulu Aloha Virtual Air group is proud to announce the opening of its newest division, "Classic Aloha". With Classic Aloha, we allow pilots to see Aloha Airlines though history. Dr.Hung Wo Ching initially organized Trans-Pacific Airlines as a charter carrier on July 26, 1946. The friendly, local style of the fledgling carrier soon earned TPA the nickname "The Aloha Airline." Certification as a scheduled airline came on June 6, 1949, and in 1958, the feisty company formally adopted the name Aloha Airlines. From the outset, Aloha relied on the workhorse DC-3 aircraft to carry passengers and cargo among the Islands. With that Aloha Virtual Airgroup opens the Classic Hangar, and within we find the Douglas DC-3 in circa 1954 TPA/Aloha colors, along with an authentic 1953 flight schedule, pilots can log flight hours from.As time goes by we will see the addition of the 1960
