Effective Monday, January 17, 2005 two new aircraft will officially be placed into service with Hemisphere Airlines. The Airbus A310-204 and A310-304 will enter service on routes previously held by the Boeing 757-200 and 767-300. Both aircraft have now been fully tested and all of the textures are in place and they are ready for distribution. The next hub location has been decided, and beginning Tuesday, January 18, 2005 work will begin setting routes in and out of Dallas/Ft. Worth International, which will be the home for the new Airbus aircraft much like Ontario is for the 737-800, and San Jose is for the 777-236. Plans for the introduction of two new aircraft, the Airbus A330-200 and a short range replacement for the current Boeing 737-500, are in the works. The A330-200 may be in service as soon as two weeks, while the short range replacement, possibly an Airbus A318 or A319, is at least a month or more away.
