The Virtual Pilots Association has passed another milestone, now with more than 150 pilots on its roster. This is an active group averaging 1500 flights and 3500 flight hours a month - divided about evenly between online and offline flights and with somewhat more than 50% of flights being general aviation - the rest being scheduled airline flights. The Virtual Pilots Association is a group of dedicated and enthusiastic flight sim pilots who enjoy all the elements of a good VA. Services: The VPA automated logbook function provides your total hours; total flights; average flight length; longest flight; shortest flight; number of short hauls, medium hauls, long hauls, GA flights, and airline flights; total distance flown, day/night takeoffs/landings; a graph of monthly activity; experience by aircraft, by airline and by airport. Moreover, your log is downloadable in tab-delimited format should you wish to keep a copy on your own harddrive. In addition, VPA provides comprehensive route and flight planning resources including weather.Recognition: VPA's broad ranging system of recognition and awards includes recognition for time in type, airline experience, and airport experience, as well as more than twenty different Awards for various achievements. Many awards given by online flying organizations also count in your VPA career.Stability: While only one applicant in five passes the entrance examination, those who do pass tend to stick around. VPA experiences extremely low turnover - virtual pilots like VPA and most of those who join - stay.Variety: VPA pilots fly both general aviation, and scheduled airline routes - and they fly virtually every aircraft imaginable from Cessna 172s to C5As and everything in between. Whether you're a fan of the PMDG series or just starting out with the Flight1 ATR72-500 - you'll find a cohort of fellow pilots which which to share your enthusiasm or ask for help. You can also try out the VPA classics section or fly our cargo division for variety.VPA pilots may choose to fly offline, or they may choose to fly online with IVAO, VATSIM or FPI. Most, in fact, will fly online one day and offline another - as the mood suits. It's up to each individual pilot.Community: VPA members are a diverse and active group - male and female, young and not so young, from every corner of the globe, all sharing a love of aviation. They gather in our Live Chat and our active Forum to exchange experiences and information as part of one of the most friendly and supportive groups in virtual aviation.Fun: VPA ensures there are plenty of opportunities for members to have fun. From the monthly screenshot contest featuring both individual and series screenshots, to challenging and rewarding treasure hunt adventures, there are always a selection of interesting and fun activities for members. Presently a group of members are engaged in a "round the world" flight in which each member takes a leg - and chooses his or her own destination. The next member then starts are that destination and selects where to go next.If you think VPA suits your interests and needs, come take a look. We're at http://www.virtualpilots.org
