The airline that started as a poke at big business, then sat dormant in the bottom of a desk drawer for almost 8 years has now taken it's first breath. The huge and ambitious project opened both the Los Angeles and Dallas/Ft. Worth hubs at the same time, with a total of 64 flights available. Within a few days it is now expected that the third hub in Atlanta will also be opening.AVA was not expected to launch until August 1st, but with the help of almost a dozen interested parties working 24 hours a day, it was made ready in just 4 days. Already the airline has released it's IPO on the Virutal Airline Stock Exchange, and more than 75 million shares have been traded. Within a week it is planned to make the airline a Platinum Corporation on that service, furthering it's appeal to traders and pilots.Aircraft so far released include the DC-9-20, MD-80 series, MD-87 and the Boeing 717-200. There is also word of a purchase order for no less than 5 Boeing 767-200ER's for possible international expansion. Currently we are adding staffing in the following areas:Pilots - Prefer experienced with the McDonnell DouglasDC-9 and MD-8X series jets. Recruiters - This will be a compensated postion based on successfully bringing pilots to the airline. Compensation would range from VASX funds and stock options to commercial add-on programming. Contact the airline through the website at http://home.earthlink.net/~associated_va/
