These aircraft have been deemed 'flight ready' by NTSB inspectors and our Captains are now making arrangements to deliver them to our HUB at Hartsfield - Jackson Atlanta International Airport (KATL). Our new aircraft will be brought on-line October 1st of 2006. Affectionately named 'Selah', Slipstream Airways new Boeing 737-800 sits on the Tarmac at MMMX.OperationsThe introduction of the Boeing 737-800's into the Slipstream fleet allows for greater diversity in scheduling and target destinations / markets. Beginning October 1st, 2006, Slipstream Airways will begin servicing the following airports:KSAN - San Diego International AirportKSEA - Seattle - Tacoma International AirportKDFW - Dallas - Fort Worth International AirportKMKE - General Mitchell International AirportMMMX - Licenciado Benito Juarez International AirportKCLE - Cleveland - Hopkins International AirportKTPA - Tampa International AirportKDAB - Daytona Beach International AirportKBUR - Bob Hope AirportThe addition of the 9 new destinations also spells the end of two under-performing destinations; Newark Liberty International Airport and Chicago O'Hare International Airport. The two aircraft dedicated to these destinations will be reallocated to the new route structure beginning October 1st, 2006.AchievementsOn Thursday September 14, Captain Kenneth Smith filed the airlines 100th PIREP. Although some airlines may consider this an insignificant achievement, Slipstream Virtual Airways celebrated the event. The 100th PIREP came two months ahead of the anticipated date bookmarked by Slipstream Airways management. The 100th flight was SV109 KSFO > KDEN.Slipstream Virtual Airways now has 25 pilots who have accounted for 112 completed flights covering 72,247 nautical miles and more than 612 hours of flight time.PromotionsSlipstream Virtual Airways makes an effort to recognize pilot, staff, and personal accomplishments. Slipstream Aiways would like to congratulate the follwing staff members on their promotions.Will Sanson - Vice President / Airline Operations ManagerAs Vice President / Airline Operations Manager, Will Sanson will oversee the implimentation of new routes, destinations, and aircraft into our timetables. Additionally, he will serve as an airline administrator to assist in the management of airlines flight operations. Will has been an intrical piece of the Slipstream community and we are thrilled to have him on board!Gil Hernandez - Chief PilotAs Chief Pilot, Gil Hernandez will oversee and manage many of the airlines introdutory systems. Gil has been hard at work training our pilots in the fine art of On-line Network aviation. At the same time, Gil has also been developing the Slipstream Virtual Airways Pilot Manual and On-line Network Introduction Manual.Gil has a wealth of aviation knowledge and has proactively taken the initiative to develop pilot training systems within the airline.
