October 11, 200619 yr AIR NEWCASTLE CELEBRATES THE 100 FLIGHTS MILESTONEEarly on Monday 9th October, Captain Alan Hull filed the north east based airlines 100th PIREP. Although some airlines may consider this a small figure, Air Newcastle is extremely proud and is celebrating the event at the companies head office. The 100th PIREP came 23 days ahead of the target date we set ourselves just over one month ago and is the result of continued support of our flight crews and operations team."It is a fantastic achievment" commented Chief Executive Lee Lambert.The 100th flight operated was NEW106, operating Dublin -> Newcastle Sunday evening. Air Newcastle is a virtual airline currently operating flights from Newcastle International Airport using Airbus A320 and Boeing 737-800 aircraft to Alicante, Amsterdam, Bergen, Brussels, Copenhagen, Cork, Dublin, Faro, Geneva, Gothenburg, Ibiza, Las Palmas, Madrid, Milan, Paphos, Paris, Prague, Reykjavik, Rome and Tenerife airports. The airline first flew on July 2nd 2006 and accomodates some 21 pilots on its roster.Boeing 737-800 G-NEWX awaits pushback from the gate at Bergen earlier this week.
